Conference in Georgia

The Second International Georgian-Polish Conference “COOPERATION IN FIELD OF FORESTRY AND ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION” took place in Georgia, 26-29 October 2018. 24 participants from Poland representing: Poznan University of Life Sciences, State Forests National Forest Holding, national parks and Bureau for Forest Management Planning and Geodesy were taking part in the Conference which was one of the largest bilateral meeting in history of our countries.

During the first day of the Conference a plenary session was organized and prof. Giorgi Gagoshidze as the first Georgian in history was decorated with the “Kordelas Lesnika Polskiego” – the most honorable decoration of the State Forests.

 

Field sessions were organized in next days of the Conference:

- laying flowers on the Lech Kaczynski Square in Tbilisi,

- laying flowers to monument of Salomon Kurdiani in Sagarejo and visiting family house of “a father of Georgian forestry”,

- visiting Lagodekhi Protected Areas and laying flowers to grave of Ludwik Mlokosiewicz – an initiator of establishing the first strict nature reserve in the Caucasus Mountains,

- visiting Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.
